Manned guarding is the deployment of trained security officers at a property to deter crime, manage access, patrol perimeters, and respond to security incidents. It is distinct from security technology (which monitors and records) in that it provides a physical, responsive human presence on site.
What PSIRA grade do security guards need?
PSIRA grades are set by the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority and determine what duties a security officer may perform. Grade C and Grade B are most commonly required for access control and general guarding roles. Armed guards require specific PSIRA accreditation.
